First of all, the Lord wants us to know His Names
His Name represents His character and nature
Here is some of His Redemptive names:
Jehovah Shalom: The Lord Our Peace
Jehovah Raphe: The Lord Our Healer
Jehovah Jireh: The Lord Our Provider
Jehovah Shammah: the Lord Who Is Ever Present
Jehovah El Shaddai: The All Sufficient One, The God Who Is More Than Enough
The very intent and purpose of God revealing His glorious Names to us is that we should know (experiencially) that He is known to us by His Names. In bible times men were named to illustrate their nature and character.
Though our sins be as scarlet (red), we shall be white as snow... Jehovah-Tsidkinu (our Righteousness)
When winds and waves assail and life is in a turmoil... He is Jehovah-Shamom (our Peace)
When we are afflicted and sick, He is our Jehovah-Raphe (The Lord our Healer)
When we have need: He is our Jehovah-Jirah (The Lord Our Provider)
When we feel alone and helpless: He is our Jehovah-Shammah (The Lord Who Is Ever Present)
When we lack.. He is Jehovah-El Shaddai (The All Sufficient One, The God who is more than enough)
For example: when we are sick, He desires us to know Him as Jehovah-Raphe because that's what He is to us. In every circumstance, He is Jehovah-El Shaddai.
When He revealed Himself to Moses in the burning bush, He told Moses that his name was "I AM, THAT I AM". Jesus told John in the book of Revelation just who He is :
Rev 1:8 I I AM Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
